Proposal submissions are closed!

Submission deadline was March 10, anywhere on earth. Decisions will be communicated by early April. If you have any questions about proposals submissions in the interim, email us at userR2025@duke.edu.

About

We invite R users and developers from around our region and the world to submit abstracts for useR! 2025. The conference welcomes contributions showcasing R applications, innovations, and insights across all disciplines. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or new to R, we encourage you to share your work.

Submission Types

Tutorials (3 hours) Interactive sessions teaching practical R skills, methods, or packages. Tutorials will be allotted 3.5 hours on the schedule to include one 30-minute break halfway through. Up to 2 instructors per tutorial can have their registration fees waived for the conference. Tutorials can only be submitted for the in-person conference.

Talks (15-20 minutes) Traditional conference talks presenting research, case studies, or technical content. Talks will be allotted 20 minutes on the schedule to include time for Q&A. Speakers are encouraged to keep their presentation to 15-17 minutes. When submitting your proposal you can indicate whether you’d like it to be considered for the in-person event, the virtual event, or either. You can submit a talk for the virtual or the in-person conference.

Lightning Talks (5 minutes) Brief, focused presentations on specific R topics, innovations, or experiences. You can submit a lightning talk for the virtual or the in-person conference.

Posters Visual presentations of research, methods, or applications, with opportunities for in-depth discussion Posters can only be submitted for the in-person conference.
